🕯️ Faith
I know God will not give me anything I cannot handle and I just wish faith would make the load lighter

Faith assures us we can bear whatever life presents.

There is something achingly honest about this quote from Mother Teresa. She does not pretend that faith makes life easy. She does not stand on a stage and declare that believing in something greater somehow dissolves the weight of hardship. Instead, she says something quietly brave: she trusts that she will not be given more than she can carry, and yet, in the same breath, she wishes it were lighter. That tension is not weakness. That tension is one of the most human things a person can feel.

So many of us have been in that place. We hold on to our faith, our hope, our belief that things will work out, and still we go to bed exhausted. We still cry in the car before walking into work. We still feel the pressure in our chest when the bills pile up, when a relationship frays, when grief settles into our bones like cold weather. Trusting that you can handle something does not mean it stops hurting. Mother Teresa understood that, and she said it out loud so the rest of us would not feel alone for thinking it.

BibiDuck once heard a story about a woman named Clara who had been caring for her aging mother for three years while raising two young children on her own. Clara believed deeply that she was meant to be there for her family, that this was her purpose and her calling. But some nights, after the kids were asleep and her mother had finally rested, Clara would sit at the kitchen table and whisper, I just wish it were a little easier. She never stopped showing up. She never stopped believing. But she let herself be honest about the weight, and that honesty was not a failure of faith. It was faith being real.

There is a kind of grace in admitting that something is hard even when you believe you were built to face it. It does not cancel out your trust. It does not mean you are giving up. It means you are human, and you are being truthful with yourself and with whatever higher power you lean on. The load does not always get lighter, but sometimes, the simple act of naming how heavy it feels creates just enough space to breathe again.

If you are carrying something heavy today, you are allowed to wish it were easier. You are allowed to feel the full weight of it and still keep going. That is not a contradiction. That is courage. Take a moment today to be honest about what you are holding, and then be gentle with yourself for holding it at all. You are doing better than you know.
